After postponing last years tournament, we are looking forward to getting back to Whitianga for another great tournament and catching up with everyone. With over $100,000.00 worth of prizes there is a very impressive prize pool for the lucky and skilled alike!
There are a few important things to take into account before the upcoming Tournament.
ROAD CLOSURE:
There is a scheduled road closure which will affect a lot of us travelling to Whitianga which needs to be taken into account on Hikuai River bridge on State Highway 25 between Tairua and the Pauanui turnoff. From Tuesday 25th October the bridge will be closed to all traffic from 8pm – 6am, Sunday to Thursday, for an expected period of up to four weeks.
If you need to cross this bridge to get to Whitianga for the tournament you will need to be over it BEFORE 8pm otherwise will be stuck on the other side until 6am the following morning. For more information, please follow the below link to the NZTA website.

PARKING:
There have been a couple changes to the parking permits since our last tournament. The launching/parking permit has now increased to $30.00 per day unless you have an annual pass. Parking permits can be brought through the Stunned Mullet bait and tackle store in Whitianga. We recommend heading there the day before the tournament to organize your passes to avoid any congestion the days of the tournament. There will also be a QR code issued in the skipper's packs that will be handed out at briefing that you could purchase your parking passes through if you wanted to do it online. When purchased online the passes are valid for 24 hours.
ISSUING OF PASSWORDS FOR THE TOURNAMENT WEBSITE LOGIN:
Your details will be loaded into the catch management system by Friday 7th October, and we will e-mail everyone a link to the site prior to that where you can enter your e-mail address and generate a password after this date when the system is live. Keep an eye out for this e-mail, and do not delete it.
